The Off-Road Syndicate Takes Second in Super Truck at Crandon's Off-Road Super Challenge

Appleton, Wisc. (August 19, 2014) – After a full weekend of TORC Sportsman racing under their belts, Jimmy Ridderbush and the Off-Road Syndicate team headed to Crandon for the Forest County Potawatomi Off-Road Super Challenge. The two rounds of racing saw all their hard work rewarded as the #224 AMSOIL / Greg Prusik Livestock / Veterans Mechanical Super Truck landed on the podium during Round 8. With a podium finish on the team’s resume, a win is the next step for the newest entry in the TORC Super Truck division.

The two rounds of racing at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway only a portion of all the off-road racing that was running, sometimes simultaneously, of the four hundred acre facility. Through the weekend, dirt drags, mud bogs, and the Dirt Riot rocking racing series where all competing, making Crandon the off-road mecca during the second weekend of August. In order for all the activities to fit on the property, the MORR short-course racers competed on the Crandon’s Short Track, a one mile layout that bypasses the long straightaways that are located on the back side for the course. The shorter layout gave competitors a new challenge as handling was the emphasis over big horsepower.

The Off-Road Syndicate is using the 2014 TORS Sportsman Series as a time session as the crew fine tunes the race chassis as the driver gets accustomed to the six hundred fifty horsepower two wheel drive hot rod.

The last race for the team Round 6 in Bark River, the test and tune session nearly landed the team on the podium with a fourth place finish.

The Round 7 race would be twelve laps around the Crandon Short Track. The race was somewhat of an unknown as only a couple of Super Truck race were racing four years ago, when the short configuration was last used for a Super Truck race. Regardless Ridderbush and the team set the truck up as if they were running the long track. The Off-Road Syndicate Takes Second in Super Truck at Crandon's Off-Road Super Challenge

The #224 Super Truck started on the front row for the two wide rolling start. As the field headed into the Polaris Gravel Pit Turn, Ridderbush entered a bit too fast and washed up the track as the rest of the field went past. The rest of the race saw the black and silver Super Truck work its way up to fifth place when the checkered flag was waved.

Now with some useful information about the changes needed for the truck when racing on the shorter layout, the crew went to work.

The next afternoon, the Round 8 race saw a much faster and more consistent Off-Road Syndicate Super Truck. The changes in the shock valving was really working as Ridderbush was getting real comfortable behind the wheel of his Probst Motorsports chassis Super Truck. The end result was a solid second place finish for the first year race team.

“It feels great to be here on the podium,” exclaimed Jimmy Ridderbush. “Our season got off to a rough start, but we kept at it, got back on the track, and once on the track my guys kept making adjustments and I got more comfortable with the truck after every lap. I can’t than my team enough, Greg Prusik, Kenny Fischer, Duane Vanden Putten, Dan Bergin, as well as The Off-Road Syndicate Takes Second in Super Truck at Crandon's Off-Road Super ChallengeScott Douglas who really helped to get this project started. Now we have to back it up at the World Championships at Crandon.”

The final race of the season is August 29-31 as Crandon International Off-Road Raceway celebrates forty-five years of racing during Off-Road World Championships.
