The last race of the season is always a time to celebrate, and the VORRA family is no different. They always plan their last race around Halloween weekend so the party can be just that more exciting. With practice and qualifying earlier in the day, the race track is live for a portion of the afternoon and then we turn to the festivities.
Pumpkin carving contest for the kids is always fun. The cold weather made for some sticky, messy hands this year, but the kids and big kids dug in and created about 3 dozen jack-o-lanterns. At the end of the night, each of the pumpkins was lit and the judges had the difficult decision of determining a winner!
The BBQ was spectacular. Over 200 VORRA members sat down and had dinner together. The dinner was a full spread of Ribs, Chicken, Prime Rib, Sausage, Beans, Salad, Potato Salad, Bread and of course brownies and ice cream for desert! Amazing food and great company.
Of course with any Halloween bash, there had to be a Costume Contest! The kids had some awesome costumes from the smallest Princess Fairy to the Big Lions Paws. And there was no doubt that the adults got into the festivities as well. From Fred, Wilma and Betty to the Source Emperor and his Maiden to a WaterTruck there was a lot of creativity at hand.
And then it was off to Tricker-or-Treat around to all of the camps…
Thanks for a great night, capping off a great season…
And now onto racing tomorrow!
